Groundbreaking Design: We’ve upgraded the traditional design used by the US Army since WW2 to make our Woodman’s Pal easier to use in a wider variety of settings. It’s a machete, shovel, brush axe, and knife all combined in one. Ideal for survival, camping, fishing, hunting, bushcraft, land management, or surveying.

Exquisite Finish: Your new Woodman’s Pal will become an instant family heirloom. Both the ash wood handle and the beautiful leather sheath are handmade and finished by Amish craftsmen. Each blade is individually hand sharpened to ensure the machete cuts through everything.

Made for Comfort: We designed the survival machete’s handle to have a perfect ergonomic grip and reduce your fatigue when used for extended periods of time. The lengthened handle allows multiple grips for various usages, increasing control and minimizing the possibility of slipping.

Premium Quality: Our craftsmen used the finest quality high-carbon steel to manufacture the Woodman’s Pal. Treated up to a temperature of up to 1500 °F to get the best possible hardness and strength, and make sure your machete has maximum corrosion protection that lasts for a lifetime.

Made in USA: All of our survival machetes are made by master craftsmen in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. We know you’ll absolutely love your new multiuse survival tool, but if you’re less than 100% satisfied with your purchase we’ll offer you a full refund.

So far the Woodman’s Pal has been exactly as expected. I ordered one a few weeks back and since I received it (before delivery estimates) I have had the opportunity to use it in many capacities. Whether I’m cutting wood, trimming bushes/shrubs or using while fishing/hunting – the Woodman’s Pal holds up as a great tool while outdoors. It continues to be my go-to for any project where I will be chopping, trimming, etc. and has been incredibly reliable. The design is sleek and the sheath that comes with it is well-made and gives you some safety while traveling. The blade is also well-made and cuts through anything – don’t see it getting dull at all after dozens of uses. I would 100% recommend this tool to anyone working outdoors whether in the woods, or on the farm – great tool and will continue to share with my friends!

The Woodman’s Pal is “The Perfect Tool” for all things outdoors/survival/bushcraft! Everything you read about this in specifications and uses is wonderfully true. It’s just simply good for everything…I used my WP and hacked out a 8″ spoon from a piece of dogwood in about half an hour. Dug the spoon out with a hook knife. Then i ate with it… (the spoon) :-)Update: Since using it for a while I’d like to say that the handle is “slippery when wet” which makes it a little more difficult to use. Wear good gloves or wrap the handle…

Very impressed. Somewhat perfect design and the steel is definitely high carbon. Maintains an edge to the likes of which I’m yet to match as a custom steel fabricator. I don’t make too many blades but I know what’s up. I’ve used chainsaw bars and I’ve forged and folded enough steel to know. Steel is pretty much my life. Which is why I bought this. Cuz I didn’t want to make it. I’m a regular in the forest doing god knows what. If it were heavier I could chop down bigger stuff but that’s what chainsaws are for. When it comes to bushwhacking and setting up camp, medium splits, and omg kindling, this is hands down the best tool money can buy. I’ve used it in so many obscure ways I can’t describe. If you’re gonna go play in the forest and do cool stuff, I highly recommend

I will admit I was skeptical about the woodmans pal at first because of the price. That’s a lot of hard earned money for a tool. But after getting and using mine I will say it’s well worth the asking price. It’s made very well, here in America, from the tool to the sharpening stone. I found it to be very useful and yes you can buy several of those Wally machetes for what you pay for this one and if you rarely use one then that honesty is a better way to go. If you use one often for clearing, hiking, camping, or want a tool to carry on your ATV then you won’t go wrong with this one. No it’s not cheap but a good quality tool isn’t gonna be cheap either. If you want a tool that probably will outlast your lifetime then buy this one. It’s versatile enough to be used for lots of things and built good enough to hold up while you do it. I have chopped trees, brush, thorn bushes, used the sickle edge and it preformed excellent. It takes some practice to figure out to sharpen it properly and get it to hold a edge. If you want a American made tool that’s ups for your task then hit the buy it now button. I wish I had bought one years ago

This was – by far – the most I ever spent on this type of tool.It is awesome. It does not feel like you could ever break it.I had a big pile of bamboo to clean/strip and that little curved doodad part worked perfectly! Grab, pull and strip. I would imagine it would work wonders on all kinds of limbs, etc. It may be a little too short for what some people may want (I would definitely buy a longer version, if available. Snakes in the bamboo, you know.). But you gotta make a weight tradeoff somewhere. If I see any further awesomeness after further clearing of my little jungle, I’ll let you know.

*Out of the box review, not field-tested yet.*First thing you see is the quality of the leather sheath, incredibly well-crafted. Second, the handle, which has a proper girth for such a tool, (I have owned previous hatchets, axes, etc., with handles which were too thin and were very counter-productive). The finish on the handle is also high quality. Third, the Pal itself. Wow. This thing cones ready to go. No sharpening or prepping required. The craftsmanship and detailing are incredible. The weight and balance are also perfect. A further review has to wait until I have a chance to properly utilize this beauty. Looking forward to it. But overall, and so far, money very well spent!!!!

Woodman’s Pal…the BEST. I start out by cutting a 2″ limb and trim it about 3′ long. I use this limb as a guard by holding it in my off-hand and cross it in front of my legs. If I miss or go through something too fast (it happens), the limb saves my limb. The hook is GREAT for grabbing high branches or cutting smaller saplings or vines. The scabbard is of heavy leather, with heavy stitching, brass rivets and heavy-duty snaps. The combination of Pal and scabbard are well worth the price and will last for generations. MADE IN THE USA!

Opened the box and put the tool to work chopping spring growth branches off the mulberry tree in my back yard. Finger thick and smaller branches came off cleanly with a single 90 degree arc swing. Afterwards the hook was perfect for stripping leaves. Cleaned and sharpened using included sharpening stone it after an hour of continuous chopping and hacking. Next I went to work on growing ornamental bamboo where this tool made a clean cut with each swing as long as tension was maintained on shoots with other hand. Without holding tension on bamboo, multiple swings were required and the cuts were not so clean.

Still wish they had the old guard on the hilt. I Also wish there was a left handed version. Having said that, this thing is a BEAST. Chops better than my hatchet, slices like a good knife. Still in perfect condition after a couple of brush clearing sessions. I like the way they push the history with the reproductions of military training manuals. Very cool, and, most importantly, a very good tool. A credit to Pennsylvania and the USA.

Upon first glance, I could notice a tiny bend on the toe of the blade, which doesn’t affect the function. On first few uses, green branches fell in single swing, dead branches bounced more of course, when they did not break. The weight and balance is excellent. Sharpening the blade was easy to get down, but took a bit of time to make sure it was perfect, hold its edge very well for the time.Handcrafted in USA
